LYCORIS RECOIL
QUICK TAKE
Lycoris Recoil blends covert agents and café life into an appealing partnership story. Chisato’s compassion and Takina’s discipline create a lively contrast, while the show’s bright surface sits against a system built around secret violence. The action is stylish; its moral questions are compelling, even when the tonal shifts resolve faster than they deserve.

A CAFE WITH A SECRET JOB
Lycoris agents help prevent crime in a society that sees only the peace they preserve. Chisato and Takina work together at Café LycoReco, where everyday requests share space with unusual missions. This review covers the original 13-episode TV series; the later short films are separate stories.
PARTNERSHIP AND THE PRICE OF PEACE
The character contrast gives the series its warmth: Chisato questions the expected use of force, while Takina has to reconsider the rules she trusted. Their café partnership makes the city feel like a home worth protecting. At times the show moves quickly between light banter and life-or-death stakes, so its political questions do not always get the same room as its action set pieces.
VERDICT
Lycoris Recoil is a stylish action drama with a memorable central duo and a useful tension between public safety and private choice. The friendship is the heart; the moral implications of the system are where the series could have lingered longer.
Crunchyroll marks it as not recommended for minors under 14 and lists profanity, violence, and smoking.
