What is Yakuza Fiancé about?
Yoshino and Kirishima become engaged as part of a truce between two powerful yakuza families.
YAKUZA FIANCÉ: RAISE WA TANIN GA II
QUICK TAKE
Yoshino and Kirishima’s arranged engagement begins as a truce between powerful yakuza families, not a gentle meet-cute. The tension between his polished charm and dangerous nature gives the romance its edge. Season 1 is strongest when it treats attraction as complicated and unsettling; viewers looking for a conventional, cosy romance should know the tone is much sharper.

A POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT, NOT A FAIRY TALE
Yoshino, granddaughter of Kansai’s largest yakuza-group leader, is engaged to Kirishima, grandson of the Miyama Clan leader, as part of a truce. His easy charm hides a volatile side. This review covers the 12-episode first season and keeps the premise’s crime-family power dynamics in view rather than presenting the relationship as a straightforward romance.
CHARM WITH AN EDGE
Yoshino’s independence gives the story a center of gravity: she is not simply swept along by the engagement. Kirishima’s unpredictability makes their interactions tense, and the series repeatedly asks what each character is willing to tolerate or choose. That tension is compelling, though the story’s deliberately dangerous relationship dynamics may be uncomfortable for some viewers.
VERDICT
Yakuza Fiancé is a stylish, uneasy romance-crime drama that makes the arranged engagement part of the conflict, not a shortcut to sweetness. Its lead characters are most interesting when they challenge each other’s expectations.
Crunchyroll marks the series as not recommended for minors under 16 and lists sexual content, sexual violence, violence, profanity, and smoking.
